(Original Watercolour Landscape and Seascape paintings)
Watercolour demands a different kind of attention. There is less room for correction, more need for confidence- and when it works, a freshness and luminosity that no other medium quite matches. The paintings in this gallery were made both en plein air, responding to the landscape directly in front of me, and in the studio from reference sketches and photographs taken on location.
The subjects range across the Dorset countryside and coast —— Corfe Castle, Swanage Bay, the RSPB nature reserve at Arne, the sea caves at Tilley Whim —— as well as the Essex estuary at low tide, the River Dart in Devon, and quiet village scenes under winter snow. Each painting aims to catch a particular moment: the quality of light, the weight of the air, the character of a place.

'The River Dart, Devon.' Watercolour, (framed). 17ins x 13ins (43cms x 33cms). £110 I painted this whilst enjoying a picnic with my wife beside the river. in a lovely wooded valley.
'The Stone Quay, Swanage, Dorset.' Watercolour (framed). 17ins x 13ins (43cms x 33cms). £110 I sat on the quayside watching the boats moored in the bay painting this scene.

'Village in the Snow.' Watercolour.(Unframed) £85 A pretty Dorset village in winter.
'Dawn Stroll, Studland, Dorset.' Watercolour (framed) .17ins x 13ins (43cms x 33cms). £110 I painted this beautiful location amongst the sand dunes beside the sea early one morning with hardly anyone around.
'The Tilley Whim Caves, Swanage, Dorset'. Watercolour (framed). 21ins x 17ins (53cms x 43cms). (NOT FOR SALE). An absolute favourite location of mine along the sea cliffs of the Dorset coast near Swanage. A Fine Art Giclee print of this painting is available.
'Beach at Arne, Dorset.' Watercolour. (framed) 17ins x 13ins (43cms x 33cms). £110 I painted this on the beach following a short walk though nearby woodland at R.S.P.B. Arne. A site featured in several BBC TV 'Springwatch' series.
'Church at East Hanningfield Essex.' Watercolour (framed). £95 A pretty Church in the village of East Hanningfield where they hold an annual Art Exhibition.
'Low Tide on the River Blackwater, Essex.' Watercolour. (SOLD) I painted this following a walk along the Estuary with my wife.
